This image isn’t part of a project, or even the beginning of something more than it is: a piece of berm detritus impersonating a jubilant Cyclops.

I stepped out of the passenger door of Catherine’s 1970 Citroën DS on the way to an organic food store, and there it was. I took five images on my phone, the first a little further away, and the others to make sure one would be sharp. I’m happy to be fond of it totally alone. It’s no giant intellectual leap, just a small step in a day’s chores.
