The final set sail of ‘folded eggs’.
.. outside {Suite} gallery after the final set sail in Wellington of ‘folded eggs’ with bighearted and caring words from the incomparable Luit Bieringa, thank you, thank you. And thank you to those who were there, nifty to be back in Wellington amongst good friends.
Dean Tiemi Te Au, of ‘Muttonbirds—part of a story’ (2002-2003), with Catherine and me. Dean ambled into the gallery at the pinpoint moment Luit invoked his ghost, faultless timing.
The artist book of that series sold out long ago, did its job, yet, despite Dean’s clear whakapapa, and perhaps because of the Māori Land Court and the Department of Conservation and others, his long struggle goes on and on and on. Soon off to the High Court for the next skirmish. Kia kaha.
